I never started thanks to watching my Grandfather die of Lung Cancer when I was 8. As part of the work place environment at one point, I've seen both the good and bad sides of having smokers in the work place. Most I hung around with would abuse the system and take 5-6 smoke breaks + a lunch break each day. Yes that can get annoying, but it wasn't my place to say anything. I think the decision to quit smoking or not should entirely be up to you, Sun. Yes it is discrimination, just like someone saying to you, "cut your hair" or "get rid of those tattoos". While I understand that yes there are certain social standards that we unfortunately have to adhere to, the general populace needs to realize that we can't all be "cookie cutter perfection". My RL family still can't quite accept some choices I've made in my life either... but they're just going to have to deal with it. 'no smoking' on duty sure is a best for all, but it's none of their business if you smoke off-duty or outside the working space ... so you're right ... it's kinda discrimination ... keep it the way you handle it up to now *hugs* I’m a non-smoker … and as I’ve always been, never needed to quit ;-) …
