A regular ol’ Joe, nothing to write home about. You’ll find me ranting and raving about this and that, commenting on things of interest to me (and things I think would interest you) as well as sharing what little I know about miscellaneous things.
To understand my view of things, and where I come from when discussing various topics, I offer these few insights, as best as I can describe, in to the stormy, constantly active and turbulent mind that is the Core of the Sun.
Regarding Politics: I rarely voice my opinion of Politics here. I keep my views on this topic reserved, typically, for the fence. On the rare occasion I do open up, it normally is in regards to something going on in the World around me, something on the news or similar. I keep my mind open, and do not associate myself with any one particular Party or Affiliation. I like to consider myself Left-Right-of-Center, More Red and Blue than Blue or Red, Independent from Independents’, Conservatives or Liberals, I accept the views of the Tea Party, without necessarily agreeing or disagreeing, all while drinking my coffee. Please keep this in mind when I do talk about Politics. I may, in one story, sound like I’m siding with (Republican/Democrat/Independent/other), while appearing to side with an opposing Party in another post. That is because my beliefs are geared to individual topics, not one particular Ideology.
About People in General: I try not to judge anyone. I’m not that conceded. Nor am I that unsure of myself. I’ve done enough wrong in my life that, if I were to be judged, it would be a long trial, to be sure. Once in a while, I will pick out a story that tells of the darker side of Humanity. Something so horrendous, so disturbing, so incomprehensible, that I can’t help but talk about it. We, as a species, see/hear of these types of incidents, and normally stick our heads in the sand. Opting to hide from the harsh reality that, even though we, as a species, have come so far, we still have such a long journey ahead of us, spiritually, intellectually, technologically, morally and ethically. I doubt that, in my lifetime, these realities will change. It will take an event of Catastrophic proportions to ever change things, or so I believe.
About Social Issues: The Monster that is Society is a Beast of our own creation. Through Politics, Social Behavior, Wars, Legislation and Lobbying, we have made a society which, without shackle and chain, will never settle down, never correct it’s errors, and never be Equal and Fair to the Population as a whole. This can be said for all manner of our populace. Rich, Poor, Sick and Healthy, Black, White, Red, Brown, Green, Yellow or Purple (Though, Barney, you deserved to be burned at the stake!). One way or another, we will always come up with some form of Legislation, Tax, Lack of Tax, Rule or Law which will be unfair to someone, and more than generous to another. When discussing Social issues, I try and discuss BOTH sides of coin. I try to shed light on the VIEWS from both sides of the table, in my opinion. A common theme here, I feel, should be becoming more apparent, I try to remain Neutral in my posts, Opinions and recommendations. That is the intent, anyways.
Personal Life: I rarely, if at all, go there. Occasionally, I will mention someone in my Family, something going on in my town or nearby, or something that affects me personally. I will rarely delve too deep in to my life, for it IS my life and wish to maintain some privacy. Thank you for understanding.
Economics: Please refer to “About Social Issues” above. I will pick topics, like “Should AT&T purchase T-Mobile?”, that either have a personal impact on me, or will represent something I feel should garner as much attention, and spark as much debate, as possible.
Technology: I review and test anything I can get my hands on, including Equipment (Computers, Cell Phones, GPS, Radios, etc) and Programs, with as open a mind as possible. I thoroughly research everything I can on my particular item/program, to figure out the ‘Nuts and Bolts’ of it. Then give you my personal opinion of the subject matter in terms of usability, cost, performance and the like. Also, occasionally, I will post a topic on Programs and Applications I find around the web which I feel may not meet some specific demand, yet, will provide a service or ability which simply makes life simpler, better or more fun (See my post on Pandora Radio or Designers.MX ).
Other stuff: Sometimes I may feel the urge to post an Instructable, or How-To for DIY’ers. I am a big fan of DIY. From repairing vehicles, building computers, Steam-Bending wood, Metal-works, and Paracord items to Installing websites and Digital Design. Yes, the Sun keeps his mitts in everything. I have diverse interests and desires. It drives the Mrs batty sometimes, but “I jam who I jam”.
