Unlimited Streaming, Customized Music… Nothing Better than Pandora!

Normally I don’t plug companies, products or ideas. It’s a personal thing, really.
However, with that said, I do feel the need to plug something/someone/etcetc that I have stuck through over the past couple of years.
Pandora Radio and their amazing Genome Project
I was faced with then inevitable “Your Subscription is Due!” email a couple of weeks back.
Yes, I know Pandora is Free, however, I absolutely, apodictically despise commercials.
Some people look at it as “Why shouldn’t it be free?” and “Why can’t it be free?” and Why does it cost for no commercials?” etc etc.
Ok, know-it-all, why should it be free?
I previously took a more cynical approach to my view of Pandora. Until, that is, I realized the benefits of their service, and, in part, to my realization of what it actually costs to host, update, support such a service.
In a more or less ‘dumb’ explanation: It freakin’ costs a fortune!!!!
.
I renewed my subscription. Though my though of Reason and Reality slapped me in the face, screamed at me, and basically beat me over the head with a sledge hammer, reminding I really couldn’t afford it (though it’s, by any means, inexpensive, to say the least).. I took the leap and re-affirmed my support for the Genome.
At $35 a year, it’s hardly a question as to whether or not it’s worth it.. It’s more “how can I afford NOT to keep my subscription??”
When exploring the potential, regarding how I use Pandora (At home, on the PC, at work, on my Cell Phone.. hell, even some cars and car audio equipment take advantage of the service.. the question becomes, how can I not afford to have this service????
I know that sounds like the Sun has done an About-Face on his beliefs.. however, I dare you to consider the alternatives:
without a Pandora subscription—-
Commercials
No customized stations allowing you to add/remove songs/artists/genres
No addition of new, unheard-of artists/songs /// songs that are dated and boring
Subscription to Pandora:
No Commercials (My personal Big Plus)
Addition of Newly released, Up-and-Coming Artists
Saved Stations that build their playlists based on your “Thumbs Up – Thumbs Down” and Selections

Trust me.. even if you go with the free radio, it’s worth it!

Slacker and 1.fm don’t have ***t of Pandora!
